India-UAE CEPA — in force since 1 May 2022 Overview. India-UAE CEPA is in force since 1 May 2022. It covers goods, services and investment, with duties removed in stages until 2031. The government describes it as India's first agreement of this kind in the Middle East and North Africa. A certificate of origin issued by a competent authority (Article 3.13; rule 14 of India's 2022 origin rules); in India the Export Inspection Council and DGFT's regional offices issue it for all products, and bodies such as APEDA, MPEDA, the Spices Board and the Textile Committee for their own products, on application through trade.gov.in.
