Shipping from India to Europe — FCL, LCL and Air Freight Compared

FCL is priced per container, LCL per cubic metre and air freight per kg of chargeable weight. A freight invoice adds bunker and currency surcharges, terminal handling, documentation, customs clearance and last-mile delivery to the base ocean freight. JNPT and Mundra are the main gateways for Europe-bound containers. Transit takes weeks by sea, and the routing decides how many: services through the Suez Canal are shorter than those sent round the Cape of Good Hope. Freight rates move weekly, so this guide quotes none: ask forwarders or carriers for current rates, and use the shipping estimator for the distance, a minimum transit time and the carriers calling at both ports.
