India-EU Free Trade Agreement 2026 — What You Need to Know
India and the EU concluded negotiations on a free trade agreement on 27 January 2026. It still has to be signed and ratified, so it is not in force yet: Indian goods pay the EU's MFN duty, or the lower GSP rate where they still qualify. India is graduated from the GSP for textiles, chemicals, precious metals and vehicles, among others. India and the EU's 27 members traded goods worth $136.5 billion in 2024-25. Key sectors: automobiles, textiles, pharmaceuticals, IT services, agriculture.
