Country-Specific Requirements Matrix
Selected rules and voluntary standards for certain goods entering six destination markets and for goods leaving India: 68 entries in 12 profiles. The profiles are for Germany (textiles, chemicals, machinery, food), France (textiles, food), the UAE (several kinds of goods), Japan (electronics, food), South Korea (several kinds of goods), Australia (food) and India (goods leaving India). Each entry is marked mandatory (a law requires it for every product the entry names), conditional (a law requires it in the cases described, a claim the seller makes such as organic or halal among them) or voluntary (no law requires it for those imports or exports). Each says on whom it falls, if on anyone (often the importer in the destination country, not the exporter), and names the law, regulator or scheme owner it was checked against on 2 October 2026. A fee or a time is shown only where that authority or scheme owner publishes it; no other cost or duration is given. OEKO-TEX Standard 100, GOTS, bluesign, SA8000, ISO 9001, IFS Food, BRCGS and the Nutri-Score are voluntary. The EU asks for a phytosanitary certificate for living plants and living parts of plants, among them fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh leaves, fresh herbs and seeds for sowing (not the fruit of pineapple, coconut, durian, banana or date palm), and for the plant products it lists, not for dried spices or milled rice; some fresh produce may not enter from India at all, among them potatoes and the leaves of citrus plants and of vines. Under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1793, every consignment of the Indian foods listed in its Annex II, among them dried spices of CN headings 0908 to 0910, needs an identification code, the results of sampling and analysis by India's competent authorities in an accredited laboratory, and an official certificate (trade samples not intended to be placed on the market (held or offered for sale, sold or passed on in any other way, even free of charge) are outside the rule up to 10 kg net, or 50 kg for fresh produce). In the UAE the certificate of conformity for regulated products comes from the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. From the entries for goods leaving India: RoDTEP and RoSCTL are both notified to 31 December 2026. General information, not legal advice: read the source each entry names.
