Updated 26 September 2026: the India-EFTA TEPA (in force 1 October 2025), India-Oman CEPA (1 June 2026) and India-UK CETA (15 July 2026) are now in force; the India-New Zealand FTA was signed on 27 April 2026 and enters into force on 20 October 2026; and the India-EU FTA was concluded on 27 January 2026 but is not yet in force. This version also corrects partner lists, coverage figures and the status of negotiations. India has been actively expanding its network of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) as part of its strategy to integrate deeper into global value chains and to reach $2 trillion in exports of goods and services by 2030, the target set with its 2023 Foreign Trade Policy. This guide catalogs the agreements in force, those signed or under negotiation, and practical guidance on how businesses can leverage them.
